CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER  (C.E.O)

Reporting to Senior Vice President 
Location:  Africa and Asia

Position Summary

As we continue building our team, we are seeking a mission-focused, seasoned, strategic, and process-minded leader with experience scaling an organization, leading a management team, and developing a performance culture among a group of diverse, talented individuals. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CEO must be a hands-on, results- and data-driven leader who will help others at Z.A.C deliver measurable, cost-effective results that make the vision a reality.

Importantly, the successful CEO will have the skills, sensitivity, and personal confidence to tap into the power that each member of the team brings to the mission. While it is essential that the CEO bring efficient and effective systems to increase the productivity of the organization, it is also critical that the CEO is able to contribute to the hands-on shaping of Zortrax Agriculture Corporation as they seek to accelerate scientific partnerships and advancements in the space. 
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
The major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Mission Impact 
The CEO is responsible for the overall impact of ZAC regarding smooth running of all the companies, with particular emphasis on increasing its corporate and enhancement of ZAC positive image globally . The CEO works closely with the Board, and the Senior Vice President, Research to craft and adapt the strategy to achieve this increased impact, including raising the funds to support some companies under ZAC. With the support of his/her team, he/she will establish and build relationships with top leaders in the business, world governments, scientific and philanthropic communities.
 
Resource Development
The CEO is charged with driving results in accelerating the growth of the companies under ZAC globally. Liaising with the world governments and other multinationals, providing oversight in the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospective business and corporate partners; leveraging personal and professional contacts and relationships into growth opportunities; and promoting a culture of companies growth in the corporation, both at the staff and board level.

Strategic Management
The CEO serves as the principal resource to the Board of Directors and its key committees and gives strong direction in policy formulation and interpretation. He/she will partner with the Board of Directors and the staff leadership team to craft corporation goals and develop strategies to ensure that they are achieved. He/she will ensure coordination and alignment of all ZAC activities to strategic direction in the areas of mission focus and growth strategy, brand awareness and management, resource development, and staff alignment.

Organization Management
The CEO is accountable for building and leading high-performing teams, ensuring all teams are aligned and collaborating to achieve organizational results. He/she maintains accountability for the operational and fiscal integrity of the organization within policies set by the Board of Directors. The CEO assesses organizational capacity to implement strategies and identify gaps in systems and staffing; directly supervises Leadership positions and establishes individual goals; manages organizational spending, monitor budget compliance, and mitigate financial risks and ensures that goals of inclusiveness and diversity among staff and our stakeholders are met.

Candidate Profile
An ideal candidate for the Chief Executive Officer role will have characteristics and experiences that include:
  • Charismatic leadership style combined with concrete management ability.

  • A passion for agriculture (animal and plant husbandry)

DUTIIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES 

  • Collaborate with senior management, business partners, engineers, architects, regulators, and more to help develop clear project specifications
  • Identify and secure locations for new projects and work to receive permits and approvals
  • Review proposals and negotiate pricing with excavation companies, greenhouse construction companies, contractors, utilities and pack line vendors
  • Assist legal counsel and senior management with contract negotiations
  • Coordinate activities of the various construction partners, manage the master construction schedule and payment schedule, and manage projects to achieve successful outcomes
  • Work closely with site superintendents and advisors to track project performance and resolve issues as they arise
  • Evaluate progress and prepare reports and present to senior management and investors

Requirements
  • Proven experience as construction project manager (ideally with greenhouse experience)
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
  • Familiarity with construction/ project management software
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • A team player with leadership abilities
  • PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage

• Market honey franchise and distribution proposals to clients and close the deals.
 • Attain new clients and build those to long terms relationships.
• Work on cold leads to from previous clients to revive the business.
 • Work with clients to build a strong case for more marketing needs from the get go.
 • Keep abreast of competitor activity and market trends in the honey industry.
 • Promoting the company’s existing brands and introducing new products to the market.
 • Researching and developing marketing opportunities and plans, understanding consumer requirements, identifying market trends, and suggesting system improvements to achieve the company’s marketing goals.
• Gathering, investigating, and summarizing market data and trends to draft reports.
• Implementing new sales plans and advertising. 
• Maintaining relationships with important clients by making regular visits, understanding their needs, and anticipating new marketing opportunities.
 • Staying current in the industry by attending educational opportunities, conferences, and workshops, reading publications, and maintaining personal and professional networks.
 • Contribute to the business development and any sales related work in the team
 • Ensuring adequate communication with the customer, post-delivery service and forwarding feedback/complaints/changes to requirements there from.
